Integrate Method

MCP 7.0 calls the API handlers used by the dashboard and CLI. It can read, create, rename, save, and restore Methods. It can also read run history and upload actual run records.
  1. Connect to https://mcp.withmethod.ai/mcp with OAuth discovery, PKCE, and token refresh.
  2. Call list_methods, then get_method with a method_id from the list’s workflows entries (id).
  3. Call get_method_version to read the current or selected saved definition.
  4. Call get_method_run_instructions to get the same version-specific run prompt as the dashboard.
  5. Execute that prompt with an agent that has a local terminal. Method CLI runs the steps and uploads the results.
  6. Use list_method_runs and get_method_run to read the results shown in the dashboard.
The remote MCP server cannot run or stop processes on your computer. Use the CLI for helper-file transfers, local tool setup, and run-file uploads. To save an edit, call save_method_version with the full workflow and a reason. The version ID comes from the content, so a retry returns the same version. To create a Method, use create_method with a full document. Saving does not prove that a Method works. See the API and MCP contract for all 14 tools. Responses keep API field names such as workflow_id.
